PATIENT PRESENTATION
Patient is a 58-year-old male with insidious onset of groin pain on the right that has worsen over the years. It bothers him with walking, squatting, and going up and down stairs. He has an x-ray that showed arthritis. He has no complaints of low back pain. There is no other prevalent PMH.
Patient has limited hip range of motion (ROM) on the right with marked limitation in internal rotation. General weakness of all hip musculature 4/5 except adductors are 5/5. Sensation is intact and patient has capsular tightness. States when the hip is “acting up” his walking changes. Today, he has decreased stance time on the right with a wide gait pattern and bilateral decreased step length.
